Suicide Prevention - Autism

**What we have done during 2023-2024

Over the course of 2023–2024, Here to Help has grown into a vital support hub through a powerful journey of learning, collaboration, and resource development. We’ve delivered a wide range of autism and suicide prevention training sessions, hosted support-focused workshops, and co-produced practical, accessible resources with lived experience at the heart. Our community-led approach has helped us reach more people, build stronger partnerships, and empower individuals and organisations with the tools they need to support others. This year has laid a strong foundation for our continued work in mental health awareness, inclusion, and suicide prevention across diverse communities.
Here are some insights over the last 12 months:

  • The Here to Help website was visited 78,000 times
  • Offered direct support to 1,085 autistic people via workshops and drop-in sessions
  • Engaged with 204 family members through workshops and drop-in sessions
  • Delivered training to 1,730 professionals who may interact with autistic people — e.g., MAIN, Samaritans, TEWV
  • Streamed on  BBC Radio Tees – Gary Philipson
  • Published on Teesside Live

The combination of bespoke online resources and in person support led Here to Help to be selected as one of nine flagship projects from across Europe in the 2025 Caritas Europa Social Innovation Festival
