The topics we offer for 60-Minute Professional Training Sessions
Introduction to Alexithymia
Explanation of alexithymia, which is when individuals struggle to recognise and describe their own emotions. This session will focus on practical strategies to support individuals to recognise their own emotions (including the use of emotion behaviour wheels).
Autism and Anxiety
This session will focus on how anxiety presents differently in autistic individuals and explain how anxiety interventions can be adapted for autistic individuals.
Autism and Self-Harm
This session focuses on self-harm, including non-suicidal self-injury such as skin-picking, and explains how interventions can be adapted for autistic individuals.
Promoting a positive therapeutic environment for autistic individuals
This session has been designed for counsellors/therapists and focuses on how you can change your pre-session, sessional, and post-session practices to be more accessible for autistic clients.
Creating psychological safety for autistic employees
This session has been designed for employers and explains what strategies managers and organisations as a whole can implement to improve the wellbeing of autistic employees and subsequently ensure more inclusive recruitment and retention policies.
Autism and Self-Care (including sleep, healthy habits, and nutrition)
This session will provide an overview of research on autism and self-care and provide tips on how to support autistic individuals to practice self-care.
Autism and Gambling behaviours
Autistic individuals are more likely to demonstrate problematic gambling behaviours than non-autistic individuals. This course explains why this is the case and how practices should be adapted to support autistic clients in understanding their gambling behaviour.
