Suicide Prevention - Autism

**Introducing Here to Help Project X Albert Gubay Foundation

Here to Help, an autism and suicide prevention project from SJOG, is now in place. Backed by an experienced team and funding from the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, the project is ready to bring real benefits to more autistic people and their families.

Over the next two years, Here to Help will continue to offer support through a proven model that’s already been tested and evaluated. While this isn’t a crisis service, the aim is to give people the tools and confidence to manage their mental health and to know where to turn during a crisis.

What is Here to Help?

Here to Help was created in response to the urgent need for more targeted, accessible support for autistic people at risk of suicide. It’s designed to raise awareness, share trusted information, and make it easier for people to find the help they need.

The official launch is coming in late July 2025, with a full rollout of resources, events, and new content designed to support both autistic individuals and those around them.

How We’ll Support You

1. The Here to Help Platform
This website is central to the project. We’ll regularly update it with information, practical advice, lived experience stories, and tools that reflect what people tell us they need. Your feedback helps shape what we do, so feel free to get in touch if there’s something you’d like us to cover.

2. Workshops and Training
We run wellbeing and psychoeducation sessions for autistic adults and parents, as well as professional training for those working in education, health, or social care. Check the events tab for upcoming sessions or email heretohelp@sjog.org.uk to suggest a topic or request something local to you.

Committed to Making a Difference

Our approach is based on listening and learning. We’ll keep monitoring what works, responding to the needs of autistic people, and advocating for better support across the board.

If you’re looking for accessible, autism-friendly information on mental health and suicide prevention, Here to Help is here for you.
